Sleep Deprived Cooked Alive remix stems

Sleep Deprived Cooked Alive is a drum & bass track from my album Rhythm and Xen. It’s written in 14-EDO (a microtonal tuning). It’s definitely one of the more popular tracks, so I’ve decided to release the remix stems for free.

Download the Sleep Deprived Cooked Alive remix stems pack

The pack includes audio stems, MIDI parts and tuning files to help you tune your synthesizers to 14-EDO. Refer to your synth’s manual to see if it supports these files. This should be enough to get a good remix going, or just to study my work if you’re learning microtonal music.

If you make anything with these stems then let me know! I would love to check it out.

I wouldn’t be able to say without digging into some old archived files – it’s definitely somewhere around 85/170 BPM, yes. Have fun!!

hi sean. of course i was pretty gung ho about this fun project and only got to work about 4 hours on it before “making a living” interrupted rudely and unexpectedly, and then it was crazy hit & miss for weeks trying to steal time to get back in the studio . . . then sometimes forgetting which direction i had last been headed toward. anyway i now have finished tracking parts and have taken one pass at mixing it, and i wanted to ask if you wanted to give it a listen and offer any feedback/advice before i conclude? you can always email me directly if you prefer.

here is the first mix – https://soundcloud.com/skotterz/sleep-deprived-cooked-alive-1

        cheers,

Sorry for missing this for several days – but mate this brought a grin to my face!! It’s so packed full of surprises that I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. I trust where you’re headed in terms of the mix. Wacky indeed!

cool, thanks for the feedback. it’s my first-ever remix of anything and, frankly, i’m not sure exactly what to do with it now. since it’s your song and your stems, do i give it to you? send the .wav file via dropbox? can i make it ‘public’ on soundcloud? i realize you’re probably a pretty busy fella, but any guidance you can afford me will be greatly appreciated.

I released the stems on a creative commons attribution 4.0 license – basically you can do what you want with the remix, even use it for commercial purposes, as long as you give credit to me for the original track. Feel free to make it public on soundcloud and I’ll make sure to repost it for ya. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this, and it’s been fun relistening to this remix today.

      Cheers!

awesome, thanks for taking the time to listen and respond. i just made it public on soundcloud – hope i did it right. i’m such a newbie at this, but i think next time i’ll work with something a little further from 12-edo than 14. i’d be thrilled to get stems from anything else you care to throw my way. thanks again.
