Catalogue of Xenharmonic Releases

The Catalogue of Xenharmonic Releases aims to be a comprehensive, neutral archive of xenharmonic releases, free from editorial gatekeeping. It is a living work in progress. Submissions are welcome.

Browse through and discover some music! If you wish to sort the database by artist, date, category etc., first go to Data > Create Filter View, and this will enable the filter icon for each column header.

Having spent tens of hours building this foundation (currently tracking over 500 releases), I’m opening the catalogue for community collaboration:

  • Submissions: You can submit missing releases via the submission link on the About tab (please read the inclusion criteria first). Yes, you can absolutely submit your own releases!
  • Join the cataloguing team: If you’re interested in adding multiple releases, filling in missing metadata, correcting errors, or processing submissions, let me know to discuss direct editing access.
  • Ideas and feedback are welcome.

Thanks for building this Sevish! So much to explore.

The Ben Johnston string quartets are absolutely my favourite xenharmonic works. The Kepler Quartet has recorded them all very well.

I wonder if your list suffers from a similar problem I find on Apple Music, in that there is only a single “Artist” that can be searched? Coming from a classical background I’m inclined to separate Artist from Composer, and perhaps want to search either. ie. Ben Johnston or Kepler Quartet.

Just my 2 cents. All the best,

Good to hear from you Dan! Where the artist and composer are different, I’m trying to include them both, either both in the artist field with a slash, or sometimes the release already has the composer in the title. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll add it to the list!
